Sexual Assault Awareness Month Calendar – April 2017

The following is a list of events taking place in Northeast Ohio during Sexual Assault Awareness Month which Cleveland Rape Crisis Center is either hosting, partnering to present, or participating in, to raise awareness about rape and sexual abuse in our community.

Be Relentless Film Screening at Cleveland International Film Festival

Cleveland Rape Crisis Center is proud to be a community partner on the film Be Relentless at the Cleveland International Film Festival. The documentary tells the story of a survivor of sex trafficking and sexual abuse who sets out to break the Guinness World Record for longest triathlon, running, swimming and biking from Cancun, Mexico, to Washington, D.C. – all to raise awareness about sex trafficking.

Sawdust Carpet Project

Cleveland Rape Crisis Center staff members and volunteers will create a “sawdust carpet” to raise awareness about the Center’s services for members of the Latina/o community. Members of the church and community create colorful sawdust carpets with messages related to peace and community in the week before Easter, and the carpets traditionally greet the church’s procession on Good Friday. The public is invited to view the completed carpets on April 13 and 14.
