Support Groups & Programs
Support groups at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC) are free of charge and confidential. Group modules run from 8 to 12 weeks based on the type of group. All groups are closed, which means that the group does not accept new members once a module begins. Closed groups ensure safety, confidentiality and trust among current group members. Any interested new members may enroll for the next group module after a current module ends. All new group members must meet with group facilitators for a pre-group interview. The pre-group interview is a chance for a prospective group member to meet the group facilitators, ask questions, see the CRCC and help determine if a support group at the CRCC is right for that individual.
Child and Family Services
Parent Support Group
A support group for any non-offending parents or guardians of children who have been sexually abused, regardless of the ages of their children. The CRCC recognizes that a child's experience of sexual abuse can affect the entire family. This group is designed to provide emotional support and resources, and to assist group members in being supportive of sexually abused children. This group is scheduled on the same day and time as Transformations, our teen support group, for the convenience of parents whose daughters are attending that group.

"Girls Kick Butt!" provides a forum for girls to express their views, ask questions, and learn knowledge, skills, and attitudes that can help prevent sexual assault. The conference is open to any girl, regardless of whether or not she is a survivor of sexual assault. It is NOT a therapy group and participants are not asked whether they have been sexually assaulted. The conference is limited to 15 participants and fills quickly, so it is advisable to register early.
