Support Groups
CRCC support groups are available for adult women, men, parents, teenage girls and teenage boys. For more information about support groups, call 216-619-6194 x141.
Support groups are available for Survivors of Sexual Assault (including rape, incest and child sexual abuse) and focus on providing a safe environment where group members can receive support and break the sense of isolation. Through discussion, feedback and other activities participants learn to understand reactions and feelings following a sexual trauma, process the ways in which each participant’s history impacts life today, and identify coping skills.
Groups are free of charge and confidential. Group modules run from 8 to 12 weeks, based on the type of group, and are 1.5 hours long. All groups are closed, which means that the group does not accept new members once a module begins. Groups consist of 8-10 members. All new group members must meet with group facilitators for a pre-group interview. Group days and times will vary throughout the year. All survivor group members are required to have an individual counselor/therapist.
