About Justice System Advocacy

The goal of the Justice System Advocacy program at the CRCC is to provide support, information and advocacy through the legal system to all primary and secondary survivors of rape and sexual assault.

What We Do

  • A JSA does believe you and help protect your rights
  • A JSA does provide support and assistance to you and your family and friends throughout the legal process
  • A JSA does answer any and all questions surrounding the legal aspects of rape and sexual assault
  • A JSA does facilitate communication between you, the courts and/or the police and will accompany you to court and to visits with the police and your prosecutor
  • A JSA does help you write your Victim Impact Statement
  • A JSA does help you in dealing with the Ohio Parole Board
  • A JSA does help you access programs set up for victims of crime in the State of Ohio, such as Victim Notification and Victims of Crime Compensation Program
  • A JSA does help link you to other services such as housing, civil attorneys, counseling and transportation and domestic violence agencies

What We Don't Do

  • JSA does not make your choices for you
  • A JSA does not give out legal advice
  • A JSA does not work with perpetrators of rape and sexual assault
  • A JSA does not release information about you to anyone for any reason without your written consent
  • A JSA does not state our Agency name when calling, unless you say it is okay
  • A JSA does not do anything you will not know about
