Greg's Story
Member of MoST Club and Youth 360 - Cleveland
Greg is a mild-mannered, natural leader who, during the past year, has become a champion for sexual violence education and prevention.
“I think that sexual violence in the community is a horrible problem because there are too many victims,” Greg emphatically explains. “To me if it is any number above zero then it’s a problem that is huge that needs to be taken care of.”
Greg participates in two programs at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC): Men of Strength Club (MoST Club), which meets weekly to explore what it means to be a real man, and Youth 360, which selects potential young leaders in the community and trains them to become activists in the prevention of sexual violence.
“The things we’ve learned have changed the way that I view a lot of things, changed the way that I view the things that my friends say. It’s changed the ways that I view what I see on TV, what I hear everyday,” Greg commented. “It’s changed me for the better.”
Greg helped organize a “Take Back the Night” rally at his school, St. Martin de Porres High School, on the east-side of Cleveland, which attracted 150 students and neighbors. Click on the links below to see photos, video and stories about the rally.
Greg is a shining example of the growing generation of young people who not only have the passion, but also the ability, to affect change in their schools and in our society.
