CLEVELAND STATISTICS ON SEXUAL ASSAULT

1,600 sex crime reports and an additional 1,100 referrals from the Department of Family and Children Services were received by the Cleveland Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit *
County Prosecutor's Major Trial Unit prosecuted 767 rape and homicide cases. Nearly 50% (393) were sexual assault cases and only 100 of them were tried in court.
Hillcrest SANE Unit treated 47 patients for sexual assault
Fairview SANE Unit treated 67 patients for sexual assault
Bedford SANE Unit treated 28 patients for sexual assault (closed 12/04)
