Other Video & Discussion Based Programs:

Looking for Love: Exploring Teen-Adult Relationships

A video based educational program that examines the very serious issue of adolescents who are involved in "dating" relationships with persons significantly older than themselves (adults). In general, teens perceive relationships to have many benefits. However, the negative consequences of such relationships can be far-reaching and may include depression, poor school performance, sexually transmitted infections, unintended pregnancy and sexual assault. This program has been designed to help teens make informed decisions and examine the very serious nature of having a relationship with an older partner.

In Touch with Teens

A Relationship Violence Prevention Program designed to identify the myths and realities of sexual, physical and emotional abuse. The program also defines the types of abuse, specifically teen dating violence. We will discuss the warning signs of an abusive relationship and identify issues of power and control. The program will help teens learn problem-solving skills surrounding relationship conflicts and target roots of low self-esteem.

Media Impact on Gender and Violence

A music video based program that provides an introductory, critical analysis of media's influence on gender and violence issues. We will examine how music videos reinforce attitudes and stereotypes regarding gender roles. We will discuss links between the adherence to traditional gender roles and the use of power and control in relationships.

Teens Stopping Rape

A video based program that addresses the risk of sexual violence and allows teens to begin addressing the dynamics of the problem, including socialization, rape myths, peer pressure, the role of alcohol, and victim blaming. The focus of this video is date and acquaintance rape. The film also explores ways to reduce the risk and prevent sexual assault.

Off Limits: A Sexual Harassment Prevention Program

A program designed to encourage both schools and communities to create sexual harassment-free zones. The curriculum will examine the "blame the victim" mentality. The program will provide strategies for resolving sexual harassment and enable adults and teens to respond constructively to sexual harassment complaints.

Katie's Secret

A video based program that discusses the scope of child sexual abuse, the warning signs associated with the crime, and the availability of treatment for its victims. This program is intended to encourage victims to seek help and concerned friends or family members to become involved through awareness and intervention.

Sexual Assault Prevention for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

A video based program that educates individuals with developmental disabilities the proper terminology and identification of male and female genitalia. The program assists individuals in discriminating between appropriate times for compliance and when it is appropriate to assert their personal rights. We will also instruct individuals to pay attention to their personal feelings of discomfort and to "tell" if they are, or have been, sexually assaulted.

School Based Intervention

This 10-session curriculum can be presented to male, female, or integrated classes. The program examines definitions, language, and attitudes. We discuss sexual assault, rape, the aftermath of sexual assault and survivor issues. The program includes role-plays on prevention and risk reduction.

Empowering Young Women to Make Healthy Choices

A two part curriculum on sexual violence for adolescent girls. The first half of the program educates women on issues surrounding sexual harassment, sexual violence, gender roles, media representation and communication skills. The second half of the program is designed to help group members to continue learning about sexual violence through peer education and projects on the issues.

Date / Acquaintance Rape

In addition to our specific curriculums we also offer a general acquaintance rape workshop. The program reviews the definitions of sexual harassment rape and sexual assault. We discuss the differences between consent and coercion. We also provide information on how to be supportive to sexual assault survivors.
